United Bank - Web References![]() |
|
From time-to-time I encounter "interesting" web pages.
Here
are a few
that are germane to the United
Banks of Colorado, and/or The United
Bank of Denver. Since some of these are
"well aged"
pages, pay no
heed to any relative time references in the text. E.g., "About
10 years
ago..." , "Earlier this year..."
And, because these are "well aged" pages, some of these links may die as time passes. I'll try to stay on top of this, but you will no doubt be the first to find the dead link. Notification(s) to the web master: Over time many of the original links which I had found have changed and/or died. I've taken the liberty of re-pointing to the material I found via The Way Back Machine. The links below will open in new browser windows. ![]() |

Scroll about 1/4 down. "Richard A. Kirk has been a Board Member of ..." Colorado's largest banking system, ... will retire..." HTTP://www.denvergov.org/AboutDenver/history_narrative_7.asp About half-way down you find "The Oil Boom". Read through to the last two paragraphs there. HTTP://www.wellsfargo.com/invest_relations/vision_values/15 Almost half-way down you'll find "Back to the Future". Read through that section. (URL updated 8-Jan-06) HTTP://www.business.com/directory/financial_services/banking/united_banks_of_colorado/ Great companies never die -- They continue "ephemerally" on the web. When you get there, click on "More" under "Company Description". HTTP://web.archive.org/web/20050306194032/http://www.1stunitedbank.com/aboutus.htm hmmmmm... Great companies never die -- They are reincarnated. Read the last three paragraphs. [ HTTP://www.1stunitedbank.com/aboutus.htm via The Way Back Machine. ] (URL updated 24-Mar-08) HTTP://web.archive.org/web/20050416165138/http://63.147.65.175/snapshot/part1g.htm Remember The Bad Old Days of the 1980's? [ HTTP://63.147.65.175/snapshot/part1g.htm via The Way Back Machine. ] (URL updated 5-Mar-07) HTTP://www.bizjournals.com/denver/stories/1998/09/07/smallb2.html "... vanished holding companies ... the old United Banks of Colorado" HTTP://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/query/z?r102:S12AU2-250: Senator Tim Wirth reads Dick Kirk's retirement into The Congressional Record. And, if you ever get bored and restless, go hunting for yourself: Google for: "united banks service company" OR "united banks of colorado" and/or Google for: "united banks service co" OR "united banks of colo" (You need to be 'cunning' and 'devious' when web searching...) |
