from several of Mark's friends: I am very sorry to hear about Marc Nichol. We were very close friends. We shared a common shyness about meeting hot chicks or even not very hot chicks. Sometimes at lunch we would go to the nearby park, and check out what was available. Marc would say, "Why don't you go over and talk to them." I would say, "Why don't you go over and talk to them?" Thus we would eat our lunch with nothing ventured, nothing gained. -- Joe Dernoga I'll hold my memorial for a very special friend, Mark. I will have many personal memories today. I will purchase a pack of Marlboro and a bottle of his favorite Jack sauce and bury it all in my back yard. Mark was a private, observing guy, but if befriended by him, you had a party animal and friend forever. He was a buddy that I need to remember in my own way. We once sank a boat on Cherry Creek Reservoir. It was Ray (Karpchuk) Carr's boat which he had loaned us. When the Lake Police came to save us, we were more concerned about saving the case of Beer. Mark & I always were regulars at USBC softball games and Gene Tang's Drink Till You Drop [The Green House: Jonesy] restaurant. Again, the 1,000+ escapades are incredible memories. This one hits home very hard -- Gary Antrim |
