After about 26 years Jim retired from UBSC in 2000. Post retirement Jim concentrated on his family, his golf game & travel.
He loved seeing the world that "this boy from southeast Kansas" never thought he'd visit. He enjoyed cruising the rivers of Europe, time with Margaret's family in fishing villages in Scotland & farms in Ireland. He walked The Great Wall of China & crawled inside the Pyramids of Egypt. And he loved sitting on a lanai in Kauai & watching the humpback whales.
He split his time between Colorado & Arizona where his son Jeff & his family (wife & 2 girls) live. Jim delighted in his 2 granddaughters.
Jim died unexpectedly on May 28, 2022 (he'd turned 79 the month before) & is greatly missed.
