| Comments
from Gary Antrim when he notified me about
this: "Jim Livermore often
times visited UBSC
during the IH
development for the loan side and
Master Card.
We became good friends with him as he, too, had a few parrots and enjoyed hard partying. Not certain if you knew him, but he was a good guy. And, when Norworst bought UBSC, the Master Card Department was one of the first to go." Comments from Burt McGregor: "I worked with Jim
Livermore more
than probably anyone at UBSC.
Bill Stirling, Kathi Thomas,
Dale
Yergert and I (early 1980's) worked with him on definition of a credit
card system instead of using First Data Resources. We were
going
to build the credit card system originally under the database, but that
was when our management began to get weak knees regarding a do it
yourself approach. Anacomp was going to build a credit card
system ... fiasco ... performance could never ... Anacomp was
canceled. Anyway, UBD chose to
stay with FDR because we
received
a 1.7 million dollar incentive to stay. And then Norwest
bought
us and the rest is history.
Jim had a great laugh and could definitely ask vendors the right critical questions. He was not afraid of doing something new." |
