We are looking S.E. That's Lincoln Street on the left side of the picture; with 17th Street running across the top.
This photo was taken from the x…xteenth floor of the
United Bank Tower Building -- looking N.E. across Lincoln and Sherman
streets.
We see the
UBD Parking garage in the lower left; the construction of the
United Bank Cash Register building in the lower right, and the old Cosmopolitan
Hotel in the upper right center.
(There was a great piano bar in the lower level of The Cosmopolitan in
the late 1960's, and I spent many an evening there back in those days. Jonesy)
Joe believes he has some pictures from later in the construction
from the upper level of the new building. More to come on this page, perhaps...
