Mountain News January 1994 Technology -- A Bet on Our Future John C. Nelson, Chairman and CEO
NTSC
Will Be InstrumentalWe've been fortunate to have one of the best data processing companies in the country right here in Denver. Norwest Technical Services Colorado has been in existence for more than 20 years (see story on pages 4-5). NTSC has engineered a system that has given us in Colorado many benefits that are not available in other parts of Norwest. NTSC will be very instrumental in helping Norwest develop the next generation of processing. As Norwest designs its new strategic banking system, it will rely heavily on the expertise available at NTSC. According to Ken Murray, Norwest executive vice president, "The New Mexico analysis and the Arizona conversion highlight how far behind Norwest is in certain 'back room' processing functions. Some of the problem issues of a conversion already have been thought through in Colorado. We must learn from their system and the concepts upon which it is built as we implement our next generation banking system."

Murry were responsible for keeping the "old" UBSC together for an extra
5-10 years!"
