Meets should not intimidate anyone. They should be treated as are local runs in a community. We attend to enjoy our efforts and the skill and efforts of others. I, for example, have generally been last or next-to-last in my age group for the events I enter. But I still enjoy greatly watching the "good" folks. Actually, I think being slow enhances the appreciation of being a spectator of the fast swimmers. Though we try hard in each event, the meets are also social gatherings that we hope more club members will find the time to participate in. They can be extremely encouraging times as we gather with other swimmers from around the state.
Congratulations to Dennis Gimlin, Michael Orendorff, Carrie Slover and Cecil Townsend for making the COMSA Top Ten Results for 2006-2007 SCY. For the SCY 2007-2008 season - congratulations to Gary Franchi, Dennis Gimlin, Michael Orendorff, Carrie Slover, Heather Strobel and Cecil Townsend. These are the top 10 swims only for Colorado Masters swimmers and only for meets in the state of Colorado.
